The Horsley Hall must be the hidden gem of the C-2-C. If you are taking 3 days and stopping off in the Stanhope / Rookhope / Eastgate area it's the place to stay. First class welcome from Liz, "Would you like a coffee or a beer on the terrace?". From there it just got better, excellent home cooked meals in a wonderful setting of the main hall of the house. Great lounge for afterwards with a quality Breakfast in the morning - all ready for stiff climb up Stanhope hill to Parkhead. Highly recommended !!

Horsley Hall is a truly fantastic place to stay! It is a beautiful Country House in a lovely setting. Our welcome was great, having spent the day climbing Hartside, we were greeted with tea and fruitcake - luxury! I must also commend the food - we had a superb evening meal (with a nice bottle of wine) and a full English breakfast then next mornining with all the trimmings. All-in-all, absolutely first class. I can't recommend enough.
