This was a very good experience. We were made to feel very welcome particularly after just arriving on the doorstep late in the afternoon. The accomodation is of a superior standard and Val and partner are very hospitable. I'd thoroughly recommend Rookhope along with its pub next door. I hope to return one day very soon.

We have stayed in many bunk houses over the years on our cycling trips and this one is by far the very best we have ever stayed in! After a long, cold and wet day in the saddle, what more could you wish for than a hot shower a warm bunk house and a comfy bed. Val and Ken welcomed us with a lovely smile and a hot cup of tea. The bunk house is spotless and you can tell Val takes pride in her buisness. We would recommend this bunk house to anyone completing the C2C.

We were welcomed first by two lovely black labradors, then by Val who showed us around and told us some of the history of this very interesting building - an old school, village hall, shop and now a great stopping-off point for the C2C. Two of us had it to ourselves, but it would be great for a group - it's bigger than it looks in the photo. The sitting area is perfect for that important cup of tea after a long day up and down the moors!

Stayed in this wonderful place with a group of six chaps this past weekend. It really is a lovely stop at the bottom of a great descent after the climb up from Allenheads. Val, the owner, is an absolute gem and along with her daughter made us feel more than welcome. The accommodation is spotless, endless fresh towels and a magnificent set up for a self serve brekkie when you feel like it, make this place somewhere I'd definitely go back too! Pub next door is smashing, food was both appetising and copious. Free Wi Fi gave us chance for catch ups. One little word of advice, take some midge spray as in certain conditions they can be a pain!
