Six of us did the C2C in May 2006 but only five completed it - more of later! I am Trevor Smith and the group comprised Tony (my son-in-law), Mike (my grandson), Bob Brian & Mick ( mates and work colleagues).
We set off from Whitehaven on May 11th a beautiful day, we arrived in Penrith for our first overnight stop, we stayed in the Blue Swallow B&B - what a fantastic place. We were really well looked after and the breakfast was superb. We left Penrith on the morning of the 12th for our next overnight stop which was to be at the Allenheads Inn, sadly I did not make it as I spent the night and the next two weeks in North Tyneside Hospital.
The remaining five have since told me the The Inn was another good place to stay, got to have been better than the Hospital although they looked after me very well. The route was completed by my mates on Saturday 13th which by all accounts was a terrible day rain and cold all day. I am still recovering from my accident but getting there slowly.
