Sheriffs Gate

Found at mile marker 9.5, this peculiar gate marks the end of the cyclepath from Whitehaven and the start of your trip towards the North Western Lake District.
As of January 2006 it is now located some five hundred yards from the end of the railway track, towards the village of Rowrah. (Please note that you can no longer ride through it.) The Sheriff's Gate was replaced by a standard gate during 2005 and you can decide which option you prefer!
