Appleby-in-Westmorland

Run by: Nigel Milsom

Upmarket coaching inn combining Victorian elegance with some stylish modern twists. Relaxed and informal, there is a first rate fish restaurant (plus a grill menu for meat eaters) and a lively bar. The Tufton Arms is bang in the town centre, just over the River Eden and close to wonderful Boroughgate, which doesn't look like it's changed for centuries. For the past 26 years, the Milson family has run this friendly place and recently the bedrooms and main dining room have been completely refurbished.
