I have been testing electric commuter bikes this last few weeks and will be posting reports on two of them shortly. I am currently riding a Whisper around the hilly streets of Edinburgh, and I’ve yet to run out of puff. From the foot of Leith Walk to the top of Arthur’s Seat was an absolute breeze. Wherever the going gets tough the bike takes the strain, and on comes the whirring motor – cadenced to incrementally assist the steeper it gets. Those amongst you who fancy commuting without parking fees, fuel costs, and a sweaty brow, this is the answer.
These bikes have been put through their paces in brutally hilly Cornwall, taking on 25% climbs. I shall be writing much more shortly….
